Old National Bank

Branch locator used by customers and customer service reps alike

Overview

Old National Bank (ONB) partnered with InGen to migrate its public website from a legacy CMS to Sitefinity and introduce modern functionality that improved usability, performance, and internal workflows. The objective was to replace a difficult-to-manage platform with a scalable, mobile-friendly CMS while adding customer-facing tools that increased engagement and operational efficiency.

The Challenge

ONB's existing website was built on a CMS that limited internal agility and lacked modern responsive capabilities. The organization needed a solution that addressed both technical debt and user experience gaps.

Key challenges included:

  • Migrating from a legacy CMS to a modern, supported platform
  • Ensuring mobile responsiveness and improved performance
  • Preserving and enhancing content during migration
  • Delivering within a 4–5 month implementation window
  • Introducing new interactive utilities without disrupting stability

The Solution

InGen executed a full Sitefinity migration and enhancement initiative, combining platform modernization, feature expansion, and performance improvements.

Sitefinity Migration & Upgrade

The website was rebuilt on Sitefinity, initially launching on version 9. During the engagement, Sitefinity 10 was released, and the project incorporated the upgrade to ensure ONB remained on a current, supported version.

Enterprise Asset Caching

An Enterprise Image and Document cache was implemented to function as an onboard CDN, improving load times and overall asset delivery performance across the site.

Feature Enhancements

InGen introduced several new capabilities to enhance both customer experience and internal operations:

  • Branch locator with interactive map functionality
  • Sitefinity Forms with geographic routing for lead management
  • Product Selector questionnaire to guide users toward appropriate checking accounts
  • "Choose Your Charity" customer voting feature
  • Enhanced site search with improved FAQ surfacing
  • Personalized notification banners based on location and user segment

Solution Benefits

The modernization delivered measurable improvements:

  • Modern, scalable CMS platform
  • Improved mobile accessibility and user experience
  • Faster asset performance through caching
  • Increased internal efficiency via routing and locator tools
  • Foundation for continued digital feature expansion

Results

The migration and enhancement initiative was completed within the planned 4–5 month timeline. ONB transitioned to a stable, modern Sitefinity environment with expanded functionality that improved both customer interaction and internal workflows. Following the initial implementation, the partnership continued with additional enhancements and feature expansions.
